Job Title: Packager
Job Description
The Packager plays a key role in safely filling, handling, and preparing gas cylinders for shipment within a modern, specialty gas processing facility. This role involves operating machinery and pneumatic lifting equipment, performing accurate labelling and documentation, and using a forklift to move cylinders through the production process while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities

Load empty cylinders onto racks and operate machines to fill them according to established procedures and safety standards.

Use pneumatic lifting equipment to move cylinders safely and efficiently throughout the facility.

Remove filled cylinders from racks, place them onto pallets, and prepare them for storage or shipment.

Perform accurate labelling of cylinders, including applying and removing labels as required.

Operate a forklift to transport cylinders and materials within the plant once trained and certified.

Complete documentation and basic computer entries to support quality control and traceability requirements.

Carry out quality checks and basic tests on cylinders and products as part of the filling and packaging process.

Scrape or remove old labels and ensure cylinders are properly prepared and identified before filling.

Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing filling, testing, and other designated tasks.

Maintain a clean, organized work area and support overall plant cleanliness and operational efficiency.
Essential Skills-
Experience in packaging or production environments with a focus on safe material handling.

Mechanical aptitude, particularly with compressors and pneumatic systems.

Ability to operate or learn to operate machinery used for filling cylinders.

Forklift operation skills or the ability to become trained and certified on forklifts.

Comfort using pneumatic lifts and other mechanical lifting devices.

Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.

Strong attention to detail for accurate labelling, documentation, and quality checks.

Ability to follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Previous experience in chemical or gas packaging environments.

Experience with pneumatic lifts, labelling, and chemical packaging processes.

Familiarity with quality control documentation and basic testing procedures.

Comfort working with compressors, pneumatics, and mechanical equipment.

Willingness to learn new equipment and processes in a specialized industrial setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a state-of-the-art, clean industrial plant with bright lighting and modern equipment. The facility focuses on decommissioning chillers and repurposing gas, contributing to a more sustainable use of resources. The standard shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch. The position involves regular use of machinery, pneumatic lifts, and forklifts in a controlled production environment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn for specific procedures such as filling and testing, ensuring a safe and professional work setting.
