Vancouver Bitcoin is a Canadian money services business operating physical cryptocurrency exchange locations in Canada. We help clients buy and sell cryptocurrency in person through a secure, non-custodial exchange model.
We are hiring a Branch Operator for our Calgary location.
This is not a standard teller or customer-service position. We are looking for someone with business, sales, management, or entrepreneurial experience who wants to take ownership of an underdeveloped branch and help grow it.
The role includes a stable hourly base plus an uncapped branch growth bonus, so the right person can earn more by helping the Calgary branch perform better.
About the Role
Our Calgary branch has significant room to improve. We are looking for someone who can do more than maintain day-to-day operations. The right person will operate the branch professionally, build local awareness, improve customer experience, develop repeat business, and actively look for ways to grow revenue.
This role is best suited for someone who has previously managed a business, operated a store, grown sales, built customer relationships, launched a venture, or taken responsibility for business results.
You will be the primary person responsible for the Calgary branch during business hours. Your work will include customer service, transaction processing, cash handling, daily procedures, and local growth initiatives.
Compensation and Growth Opportunity
This role includes a base wage of $24/hour plus an uncapped branch growth bonus tied to Calgary branch performance.
We are looking for someone who can help turn Calgary into a stronger local branch. For the right person, compensation can grow meaningfully as the branch grows.
The bonus is designed to reward real business growth. If you help increase Calgary branch revenue, improve local awareness, build repeat customer relationships, and strengthen branch performance, you can share in the upside created by that growth.
Bonus eligibility is subject to strong operational performance, customer service, documentation, and adherence to company procedures.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Operating the Calgary branch professionally day to day
- Opening and closing the branch according to company procedures
- Assisting customers with in-person cryptocurrency buy and sell transactions
- Handling cash accurately and completing daily reconciliation
- Following required customer verification and transaction procedures
- Maintaining a clean, secure, and professional branch environment
- Improving the customer experience and encouraging repeat business
- Identifying practical ways to increase local awareness and branch traffic
- Building relationships that may lead to referrals and new customers
- Communicating with management about branch performance, customer feedback, local opportunities, and operational issues
- Taking initiative to improve branch results instead of waiting for direction
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with an operator mindset.
The ideal candidate is not looking for a basic counter-service job. They should be motivated by responsibility, growth, and performance. They should be comfortable being accountable for results and should have the confidence to help improve an underdeveloped branch.
Strong candidates may have experience as a:
- Business owner or entrepreneur
- Store manager or assistant manager
- Branch manager or operations manager
- Sales manager or business development representative
- Real estate, insurance, finance, or other commission-based professional
- Currency exchange, financial services, or high-trust retail operator
- Someone who has helped launch, grow, or turn around a location, department, sales territory, or business
Required Experience
Applicants should have at least one of the following:
- Experience managing a store, branch, department, or business location
- Experience growing sales or revenue in a previous role
- Entrepreneurial or self-employment experience
- Business development, sales, or referral-building experience
- Experience being directly accountable for business performance
- Experience operating independently without constant supervision
This is not intended for applicants whose only experience is general labour, basic cashier work, entry-level customer service, or routine teller work without broader responsibility.

Cryptocurrency Experience
Prior cryptocurrency experience is not required.
