Job Summary
For the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst II position, the primary role is to lead the manual testing of internal business applications and customer-facing websites, with a strong emphasis on test design, defect management, and end-to-end quality ownership within Azure DevOps (ADO). The QA II works closely with the QA Manager, peer QA analysts, developers, and business sponsors to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions to our business stakeholders. The QA II supports Olympia’s in-house application development by authoring comprehensive test cases, driving defect resolution, and helping the team continuously refine its QA processes.
The Quality Assurance Analyst II must deliver results in a dynamic and team-oriented environment. They must be able to multitask and thrive in an ever-changing environment, build relationships naturally, adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and mentor junior QA team members.
Duties & Responsibilities

Perform manual functional, GUI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across web and application platforms; troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Collaborate with business analysts and developers to translate business logic and acceptance criteria into comprehensive test cases in Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans, ensuring full coverage of requirements.

Submit, triage, and track defects in ADO through to resolution; identify, diagnose, report, and assist developers in resolving defects and verifying bug fixes.

Own the QA cycle for assigned tickets and releases: define entry/exit criteria, plan, execute, and provide QA sign-off.

Understand and lead QA deployment processes by reviewing tickets for deployment, creating and reviewing pull requests, and coordinating with QA and Devs to complete deployments.

Perform root-cause analysis on production defects and drive corrective / preventive actions.

Mentor and coach QA I team members, peer-review their test cases, and share testing best practices.

Provide constructive feedback to the business to enhance QA processes and improve ticket quality (clarity of requirements, acceptance criteria, and reproducibility of issues).

Help design and implement a more efficient workflow for the QA team, including test-case standards, defect templates, and ADO conventions.

Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, release readiness reviews, and retrospectives, advocating for quality throughout the release cycle.

Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and tooling.

Provide support to internal users via phone, e-mail, and on occasion through meetings.

Produce clear, concise QA documentation, test summary reports, and end-user support materials.

Formal Education & Experience

High school Diploma is required.
-
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analysis, or a related discipline (or 4+ years of equivalent QA experience) is required.

ISTQB Foundation Level certification is required; Advanced Level (CTAL-TA or CTFL-AT) is an asset.

3–5 years of progressive Quality Assurance experience in web and application testing.
Specialized Skills & Knowledge

Proven experience with Product Acceptance Testing is required.

Proven experience authoring testing documentation (Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Change Requests) is required.

Strong understanding of Web and Application Services, including client-server architecture, is required.
-
Proficient with Azure DevOps (ADO) — Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Test Plans is as asset.

Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies, iterative development, and shift-left testing.

Working knowledge of Git and source-control workflows is required.

Understanding of database fundamentals and TSQL (or equivalent) for basic data verification is an asset.

Experience managing and logging incident reports and performing root-cause analysis.

Test automation experience with Telerik Test Studio, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, or a comparable framework is an asset.

Programming knowledge of C# and/or JavaScript / TypeScript is an asset.

Exposure to performance / load testing using Azure Load Testing (or comparable tools such as k6 or LoadRunner) is an asset.

Experience testing financial applications (trading, self-directed accounts, registered plans) is strongly preferred.
