General Practitioner — Preventive & Performance Health
MINT Condition | North Vancouver, BC
www.mintcondition.ca
Part-time | Flexible schedule | Opportunity to grow
MINT Condition is building a different model of healthcare — one that gives clinicians the time, information and interdisciplinary support to help people better understand their health and make meaningful changes to how they feel, function and age.
We bring medical, allied-health and fitness professionals together around a shared goal: help people understand what matters for their health, determine what to do next, and actually put that plan into practice.
We are looking for an exceptional General Practitioner / Family Physician to join our interdisciplinary clinical team in North Vancouver.
The Opportunity
This role is designed for a physician who enjoys preventive medicine, complex health conversations and working proactively with clients — without the pace and volume of traditional primary care.
The GP will provide comprehensive medical assessment and consultation, identify current and emerging health risks, help clients make sense of their health information, and develop practical, evidence-informed plans for next steps.
Areas of focus may include:
· Preventive health and risk assessment
· Cardiometabolic health and cardiovascular risk
· Healthy aging and longevity
· Women’s health, including perimenopause and menopause
· Men’s health and midlife health
· Sleep, fatigue, energy and stress
· Bone health and body composition
· Exercise and physical capacity
· Review and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic information
· Medication review and management where appropriate
· Identification of health concerns requiring further investigation or referral
The role is consultative and preventive in nature. MINT is not intended to replace a client’s family physician or longitudinal primary-care provider.
A Different Way to Practise
MINT is built around the idea that good healthcare requires more than identifying risk or providing recommendations.
Physicians will have the opportunity to work alongside Nurse Practitioners, Naturopathic Doctors, Occupational Therapists, fitness professionals and other allied-health clinicians to help clients translate medical recommendations into meaningful changes in exercise, nutrition, sleep, daily habits and overall health.
Depending on the client and service, assessment may also incorporate information such as DEXA/body-composition results, cardiovascular and fitness measures, health history, laboratory investigations and other relevant clinical data.
We are looking for a physician who values evidence over trends, uses thoughtful clinical judgment when considering investigations and interventions, and is comfortable telling clients when additional testing or treatment is not clinically indicated.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a physician who is:
· An excellent clinician and communicator
· Interested in preventive medicine and healthy aging
· Comfortable assessing health risk and managing common midlife health concerns
· Evidence-informed and thoughtful in the use of diagnostic testing and screening
· Skilled at translating complex medical information into clear, practical recommendations
· Interested in exercise, physical capacity, metabolic health and lifestyle medicine
· Collaborative and comfortable working across disciplines
· Curious and committed to ongoing learning
· Interested in helping shape a new model of preventive healthcare
Experience or additional training in women’s health, menopause, men’s health, lifestyle medicine, sports medicine, metabolic health, cardiovascular prevention or healthy aging would be particularly valuable.
Qualifications
Candidates must:
· Hold an MD and be eligible for/currently registered and in good standing to practise medicine in British Columbia
· Hold appropriate medical liability coverage
· Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
· Practise according to current evidence and accepted standards of care
· Be comfortable working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
Several years of clinical experience in family medicine, primary care or a related area is preferred, although we are open to clinicians from different backgrounds who strongly align with MINT’s model.
Help Us Build Something Better
As an early physician member of MINT, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to help shape how medical care is delivered within the practice.
This may include contributing to:
· Preventive-health assessment pathways
· Screening and laboratory protocols
· Women’s and men’s midlife-health programs
· Healthy-aging and longevity services
· Interdisciplinary clinical pathways
· Client education and follow-up models
· Future medical services and programming
We are looking for someone who wants to do more than provide consultations. We want a physician interested in helping us determine what excellent preventive healthcare should look like at MINT.
The Role
The position will initially be part-time, with significant flexibility around scheduling and the opportunity to increase involvement as MINT grows.
MINT provides the clinical environment, administrative infrastructure and interdisciplinary team, allowing physicians to focus on high-quality clinical care.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience, training, scope and level of involvement. We are open to discussing different engagement structures and an expanded clinical leadership role for the right candidate.
