Forklift Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Facility: Atlantic Industries Ltd., Ayr, Ontario
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Wage: $25 per hour

Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Manufacturing team at our Ayr, Ontario facility. The successful candidate will support the safe, efficient, and organized movement of products, raw materials, and finished goods throughout the yard, warehouse, and manufacturing areas.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is safety-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Forklift Operator will help prepare shipments, receive and store materials, support inventory accuracy, and ensure materials are moved to the correct locations on time.

Key Responsibilities

Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or using equipment.
Pick customer orders and prepare products for shipping, including stacking, wrapping, and crating.
Check materials for accuracy and quality before shipment.
Put away received materials in the proper storage locations.
Assist with receiving incoming materials and confirming related inventory transactions are complete.
Count, weigh, sort, and check materials as part of regular inventory and material-handling processes.
Work with carriers to assist with loading materials for shipment.
Move raw materials to the appropriate manufacturing cells and finished goods to proper inventory locations.
Assist with inventory processes and maintain accurate material movement records.
Participate in clean-up, organization, and basic maintenance of the work area.
Follow safe work practices and support a clean, organized, and efficient facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1-5 years of relevant material-handling, warehouse, yard, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving experience.
Forklift operating experience.
Experience operating front-end loaders.
Loader/operator ticket or equivalent.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Knowledge of inventory control systems for material handling.
Demonstrated knowledge of material-handling methods and key departmental processes.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and balance competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
Willingness to work overtime as required to ensure duties are completed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing, infrastructure, steel, construction materials, or industrial yard environment.
Experience working directly with carriers and preparing outbound shipments.
Experience supporting inventory counts, cycle counts, or receiving processes.

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and working both indoors and outdoors. The successful candidate must be comfortable safely handling materials, operating equipment, and working in a manufacturing and yard environment.
