Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As the Design Manager you will be an integral part of our clients dynamic PP&S team, leading the charge in creating innovative, inspiring spaces that reflect our brand and culture. You will help oversee a talented team of external designers and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure our spaces are aesthetically pleasing, functional, sustainable, and strictly aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Team Management

Provide overall leadership and direction on all physical design-related initiatives within .

Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment that aligns with 's strategic objectives, culture, and core values.

Portfolio Oversight & Project Delivery

Oversee the design aspects of a diverse portfolio of construction projects, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery across both corporate and retail spaces.

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure strict alignment with business needs.

Space Planning & Programming
-
Lead space planning initiatives and actively work to create all relevant construction and fixturing documentation at all stages of assigned projects.

Performance Management & Process Optimization
-
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and design metrics.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency, creativity, and effectiveness of design processes.

Specification Management & Standards Control
-
Oversee the development, implementation, and management of corporate design standards and associated specifications.

Ensure cost-effective execution, value engineering, and adherence to established financial targets.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
-
Champion a culture of quality and compliance, ensuring all design projects adhere to 's internal standards, specifications, and applicable local regulations.

Implement strict quality control measures, including regular design audits and physical site visits.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
-
Build and maintain robust relationships with key internal business partners, external design vendors, consultants, and relevant authorities.

Communicate effectively across all levels to ensure alignment, transparency, and seamless collaboration.

Risk Management & Mitigation
-
Develop and implement proactive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project and design risks.

Ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions to project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
-
8+ years of progressive experience in design management.
-
3–5 years of experience in contract administration, project management, or a related role, preferably within a retail-facing capacity.

Deep understanding of design principles, interior architecture practices, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction or design projects, including scope planning, execution, risk mitigation, and financial/budgetary control.

High proficiency in standard industry design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and standard project management tools.

Ability to translate the organizations overarching business objectives into a long-term physical design strategy.
-
Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a team of external design and construction professionals, fostering accountability and high performance.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and convey complex design concepts clearly and concisely.

Confidence to navigate complex situations, analyze multifaceted data, evaluate options, and make sound decisions that drive project success.

Ability to embrace change, navigate evolving corporate priorities, and agilely adapt design strategies to meet new challenges.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a closely related field.
