We’re Val Mart Door Sales and we design, build, and install specialty industrial doors throughout south-western British Columbia. For over 50 years, we’ve built everything from airport hangar doors to large truck doors for warehouses.

We’re looking for someone with sales experience in the construction industry to join our growing team.

Sales Person

Your role in this job is to develop a consistent pipeline for $125k to $200k of business every month. Here’s the plan to get you there:

Step one: You will follow our sales team on their site visits and through their office procedures.

Step two: You will spend time on the field with our technicians and installers learning how things work.

Step three: Seventy five percent of the time you’ll be fielding calls from potential customers and handling overflow from our sales team until you have built up a clientele of your own. The other twenty five percent you’ll be out on job sites proactively finding business to fill up the pipeline.

The Specifics

This full-time job works out of our office/shop in Surrey/Port Kells close to highway 1, Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm. We pay a competitive wage that grows as you do, when you reach step #3 we will provide a vehicle for you to reach out with, and we have a great medical and dental plan.

Who We’re Looking For

Maybe you’re already in the overhead door industry or construction, and you’re looking for the kind of brand recognition we offer. Or maybe you’re newer to sales and are looking for a company to build a career at. Either way, you’re:

Organized – you understand that a positive attitude is essential for your sales success, and you will create processes to organize all your prospecting, follow up & relationship building activities.
Motivated to prospect – you don’t wait for inbound phone calls. Whether it involves networking, heading out to jobsites, or hitting the phones, you do whatever it takes to find people who could use our services.
Great with people – whether it’s office workers or construction site superintendents, you earn trust quickly by asking great questions, making them feel understood, and then positioning our products the right way.

To do the job you must have a valid driver’s license. We’re specifically looking for someone with:

Experience doing sales in the construction industry (an asset)
Experience reading blue prints (an asset)
Experience working in a small business (an asset)
Experience in overhead doors (an asset)
