Construction Manager
TAC Builders Ltd, Selkirk MB
- Do you see three moves ahead before making a call on site?
- Are you more comfortable with a hammer than sitting in front of a computer?
- Do you lead people because you've earned it, not because you're the loudest
If yes, keep reading.
Lionheart Developments and its exclusive builder TAC Builders are looking for a Construction Manager to join our growing team. We're currently building a four-building, 271-unit residential community on a five-acre site in Selkirk, complete with an indoor swimming pool and high-end amenities. This isn't just a job site. It's a community being built from the ground up and we take that seriously.
We're a small, tight team that moves fast and holds high standards. We are always looking to improve though, and if you see a smarter way to do something, we want to hear it.
You'd make a great fit if...
You're the kind of person who:
- Thinks two or three moves ahead before acting, because a decision with one trade could become a problem for the next trade
- Has had real world experience leading on a job site. Forman, project manager, or site supervisor experience would be ideal. We would also consider someone with experience leading a crew and making real decisions, (you don't need a fancy title). Basically, someone who has been trusted with real accountability on a jobsite.
- Is more at home on the site than behind a desk
- Can be assertive when it counts without being the loudest person in the room
- Sees a problem and owns it instead of reporting it
Extra awesome if you:
- Come from a trades background, framing, finishing, or similar
- Have coordinated multiple trades on a residential multi-unit apartment project
- Are comfortable jumping on tools when the situation calls for it
What you'll do
Your daily responsibilities include:
- Running site operations from excavation through to completion
- Coordinating and sequencing trades to keep things moving efficiently
- Enforcing quality standards on every unit and through out the project
- Leading site crew workers and holding them accountable with respect
- Flagging issues to the owner before they become large/costly problems, not after
- Keeping documentation, daily journals, and deficiency logs current
- Champion site safety and lead by example when it comes to safe work practices
What you'll need
- Proven experience leading people on a real job site, whether that's a crew of three or a full construction project
- Trades background with hands-on experience
- Strong communication and the ability to hold people accountable without burning relationships
- Comfortable with basic technology, we're actively building lean admin systems so you stay on site, not buried in paperwork
Why join us
- Long-term role with a company that's growing with other projects coming
- Work directly with the owner with real autonomy and real accountability
- Be part of building something that matters, a high-quality residential community people are proud to call home
- Competitive compensation with room to grow as the company scales
