About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join the Rockport Commercial team! As a Journeyman Carpenter you will take responsibility in bringing strong craftsmanship, reliability, and strong eye for detail, working on various residential and commercial projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys problem-solving on site, and values working with a team that supports safety, professionalism, and getting the job done right.

Key Responsibilities

Execute framing layouts independently for multi-family residential structures.
Construct fire-rated assemblies in strict compliance with safety regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints to accurately plan and complete projects.
Enforce rigorous safety compliance across all assigned work areas.
Supervise and mentor carpenter apprentices, helping them build their skills while maintaining productivity and quality on site.
Maintain high-quality workmanship standards across all phases of construction.
Report daily site progress accurately to project management teams.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes, site plans, and safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and properly care for tools and equipment.
Collaborate with other trades to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.

What You’ll Need

Journeyperson Certificate is mandatory and proof of certification will be required if selected.
Experience reading blueprints, layouts, and construction drawings, with a strong understanding of building codes and site safety requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
A valid class 5 license and vehicle.
