Oversee all day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site.
Coordinate and manage all mechanical sub-trades, including:
Ventilation Contractors
Insulation Contractors
Controls Contractors
Air Balancing Contractors
Supervise and direct company field personnel to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
Develop and maintain manpower plans to meet project schedules and milestones.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues.
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, consultants, and owners.
Review and manage material deliveries, equipment logistics, and site inventory.
Track labour hours, productivity, and workforce performance.
Complete daily reports, timesheets, and project documentation.
Assist with project scheduling and look-ahead planning.
Manage deficiencies, commissioning activities, and project closeout requirements.
Safety Responsibilities
Maintain and enforce all company and site-specific safety policies.
Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Ensure workers and subcontractors follow safe work practices.
Identify and mitigate site hazards.
Complete incident reporting and corrective action documentation when required.
Promote a strong safety culture across all site personnel.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience supervising commercial, institutional, or industrial mechanical construction projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex projects.
Proven ability to lead crews and manage manpower effectively.
Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project sequencing.
Experience with labour tracking, productivity reporting, and cost awareness.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman Plumber
First Aid, Fall Protection, and other relevant safety certifications.
Experience on large commercial, healthcare, institutional, or industrial projects.
Familiarity with commissioning and turnover procedures.
