Systems Integration Lead
Summary: The Integration Lead is responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of System Integration Testing (SIT) activities for Light Rail Transit (LRT) infrastructure and vehicle systems. Responsible for producing and professionally stamping SIT test procedures, validating subsystem and interface requirements, and ensuring operational readiness across all project construction and commissioning stages.
Reporting to the Systems Manager, this role ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations, while promoting a safety-first culture in all construction, testing and temporary operation activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop SIT test procedures and P.Eng Stamp
- Review all requirements to develop dynamic testing procedures involving multiple systems
- Work with design to develop construction staged testing strategy
- Review ICDs against design requirements for Validation method
- review with T&C team subsystem requirements for SIT and interface staging against construction stages
- Derive requirements from project functional plans
- Manage and update project Systems configuration state document - against project discussions and developments
- Review operational DDCRs and refine validation methods against location & readiness
- Develop pre-requisites for T&C and manage schedule for readiness for major system SITs
- Develop and work with performance demonstrations criteria
- Be part of T&C on site during testing, organize readiness and drive works
- SITs to be produced & stamped but not limited too
o Line of sight - distance reaction times
o Headway, min max operational speed in each section/ direction/ failure
o Acceleration / deceleration characteristics with AW loading
o Dynamic tests proving RAMs
o Degraded mode operations SIG, POWER, Track, Comms - Against operation processes
o Series - multiple LRV tests, load monitoring, harmonics, failure and rescue scenarios
o Any testing against SOP
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 5+ years of experience in field construction is required.
- Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or rail projects is preferred. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Technical knowledge and experience in the commissioning of Transit Rail Systems in at least one major system (Signaling, Communications, Track, SCADA, overhead catenary, tunnel ventilation, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Goal Zero safety program.
- Valid Class 5 license; clean abstract preferred
- Ability to navigate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
