We are seeking a high-impact Financial Controller (Full-time, Permanent), to serve as a key strategic partner to our Owner and executive leadership team. This is more than a traditional accounting role—we are looking for a forward-thinking leader who wants a true seat at the table and the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing organization.
The position:
The Financial Controller oversees all accounting and information management functions, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the company’s financial reporting systems. You will work hand-in-hand with management to translate financial insights into strategic decisions, overseeing the health of our operations while playing a critical role in running the day-to-day business. What you will do:
- Maintain robust accounting records; implement internal controls and budgeting processes; ensure compliance with GAAP; deliver timely, insightful management reporting.
- Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Oversee payroll management, including salary/benefits/deductions compliance; collaborate with HR; reconcile payroll accounts; implement best practices for payroll reporting and controls.
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial reporting accuracy and effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with external third-party advisors (auditors, technology consultants, ERP advisors).
- Oversee financial systems implementations and upgrades.
- Lead cashflow forecasting and liquidity management; align forecasts with business objectives and financial targets.
- Stay current on regulations, accounting standards, and cashflow best practices; implement process improvements (budgeting, forecasting, cost control, decision support) to improve profitability and cash flow.
- Manage and grow the Accounting team through coaching and performance management.
- Approve, monitor, and control company expenditures; manage allocations aligned with business priorities.
- Oversee HR administration (records, onboarding/offboarding, compliance).

What you bring to the position:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
· CPA designation
· 5+ years of experience in accounting
· 3+ years of experience in financial management
· Expertise in MS Office, QBO, and ERP database systems
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Strong business acumen and reliability
· Payroll & HR experience
· Strong digital technology skills
What we offer:
· Salary range: CA$100,000 - $150,000 per year
