Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef and General Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
Oversee food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed, and minimizing waste
Support the training and development of kitchen team members in cooking techniques and food safety practices
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
Collaborate with restaurant management to plan menus, specials, and staffing schedules
Serve as a leader during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service
Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with demonstrated team management skills
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and food handling procedures
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Familiarity with restaurant management practices and the food industry environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
