Accommodations will be provided by the company, candidates are responsible for transportation to and from the accommodation site. The accommodations are bedrooms at Wilderness Edge in Pinawa with some private and some shared bathrooms as well as access to a shared, unstaffed kitchen where employees can store their items and prepare their meals.

Summary

We are seeking a reliable Underground Jumbo Operator - Miner 1 to join our expanding team. This role is critical to underground development, responsible for safe and efficient drilling in support of headings, ground control and overall mine advancement.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a site that is actively ramping up production, offering steady work and competitive pay.

Wage - $40.37/hr
Accommodations provided - must have own transportation to and from accommodation site.
Production Bonus
Overtime Premiums: $80.74 /hr for OT call ins (2x wage)
$70.65/hr for OT that's scheduled (1.75x wage)
Week on/Week off rotation
10% Company pension contribution
Shift Premiums
Company-paid Benefits
$375 Boot Allowance paid annually

Responsibilities

Operate underground jumbo drills safely and efficiently. (Atlas Copco/Epiroc)
Drill development headings according to mine plans and specifications.
Assess and inspect ground conditions before and during drilling activities.
Conduct pre-operational inspections, routine servicing, and basic troubleshooting of jumbo equipment.
Identify and report unsafe ground conditions, equipment issues, or hazards.
Work closely with miners, supervisors, and other underground crews to maintain production flow.
Follow ground control standards, mine plans, and safe work procedures.
Maintain accurate shift reports and communicate work completed during each shift.
Support other underground mining tasks as required within the crew.

Qualifications

Previous underground mining experience required.
Experience operating underground jumbo drills (Atlas Copco, Epiroc, Sandvik)
Strong understanding of underground ground support practices and safe bolting procedures.
Ability to recognize changing ground conditions and respond appropriately.
Mechanical aptitude for equipment checks and minor troubleshooting.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-based underground environment.
Commitment to safety, communication, and consistent execution.
