Energy Powersports is looking for an experienced Powersports Technician to join our growing service team in Oakville.
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and customer-focused technician with hands-on experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, electrical systems, electronic troubleshooting, accessory installation, and general powersports service. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a positive team attitude, and a passion for powersports, marine, and BRP products.
As a Powersports Technician, you will work on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including Sea-Doo personal watercraft, Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Can-Am ATVs, Can-Am side-by-sides, Can-Am on-road vehicles, Mercury Marine products, and other powersports and marine equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The Powersports Technician will be responsible for performing high-quality service, repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and accessory installation work.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain powersports vehicles and marine products.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
- Complete service work on ATVs, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles, and related equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance, inspections, tune-ups, repairs, and seasonal service.
- Install accessories, upgrades, performance parts, electronics, and customer-requested equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools and service information to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Complete repair orders accurately and document work performed.
- Communicate required repairs, parts needs, and service recommendations clearly to service advisors and management.
- Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Follow manufacturer procedures, safety standards, and dealership processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support a positive team environment and assist other technicians when required.
- Deliver a professional, customer-experience-focused approach to every job.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
- Valid 310G Motorcycle Technician licence.
- Valid M motorcycle licence.
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card / boating licence.
- Certificate or training in small engine repair.
- Experience in powersports repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and accessory installation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical ability.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and follow service manuals, wiring diagrams, repair procedures, and technical bulletins.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Customer-experience-focused mindset.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
The following would be considered strong assets:
- BRP training or BRP certification.
- Experience working on Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Can-Am Off-Road, Can-Am On-Road, or Mercury Marine products.
- Previous dealership experience.
- Experience with manufacturer diagnostic software.
- Experience installing accessories, electronics, audio systems, winches, plows, lighting, marine accessories, and performance upgrades.
- Marine, snowmobile, ATV, side-by-side, motorcycle, or small engine service background.

Work Environment
This is a hands-on technical role in a busy powersports dealership service department. The successful candidate will work with service advisors, parts staff, management, and other technicians to deliver high-quality repairs and an excellent customer experience.
The role may include seasonal service peaks, diagnostic work, maintenance, accessory installation, customer unit preparation, warranty repairs, and pre-delivery inspections.
