The Distribution Standards team supports communities across British Columbia from our Burnaby (Edmonds) office. Our
group is made up of a skilled and diverse set of engineering professionals who develop construction standards and select,
specify, and approve equipment for use throughout BC Hydro's Distribution System. The team also works closely with
Operations, supporting failure investigations and providing engineering expertise to both internal and external engineers
and designers so that the distribution system is operated, maintained, repaired, upgraded, replaced, and expanded with a
strong focus on safety.
An opening is available on the Civil Standards team, which develops and maintains standards for civil infrastructure that
supports the distribution system, including underground vaults, duct banks, foundations, anchoring, and other structural
components.
Our teams are also driving forward the modernization of standards delivery, including adopting advanced design tools and
exploring AI-enabled workflows to improve how we develop and deliver engineering standards.
If you're a motivated engineering professional looking to contribute to the safety, reliability, and evolution of one of the
largest distribution systems in Canada, we encourage you to apply.
