- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++ and Python), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience in building ML systems in anti-abuse, anti-fraud in industry.
- Experience with SQL.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Detecting fraud and abuse is challenging because it is an arms race with bad actors who are getting increasingly sophisticated and constantly evolving trying to evade our detection. Without effective detection and enforcement, fraudulent advertisers cause major user harm, business growth loss and damage Google’s reputation. We must ensure friction and impact on good advertisers is minimized.

We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Canada: $150000 - $154000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

- Build out infrastructure and framework to accelerate signal acquisition, metrics collection and model launch.
- Support modelers to deploy new and innovative models, including models that operate on various entity types, unsupervised models, and new use of LLMs.
- Develop and maintain Google’s mission critical fraud detection system to scale with the rapid growth of ads business with real-time, low latency and high availability requirements.
- Work with partner teams to provide holistic solutions to address fraud at all stages from prevention, detection to mitigation.
