Academic Breast Pathologist

Applications are invited for a full-time permanent (1.0 FTE) Breast Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.
The ideal candidate will have completed residency training in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology (Anatomical Pathology) or Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology (General Pathology) with additional subspecialty fellowship training. Strong frozen section, cytology and surgical pathology skills (including related molecular/biomarker testing) are required. A second area of subspecialty practice would be an asset (in particular gynecologic or gastrointestinal pathology).
Applicants must hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in DMP/DCP and hold or be eligible to obtain medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment with the rank commensurate with their skills and experience. They will be expected to regularly participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as needed by the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. A commitment to academic scholarship in the areas of education, quality improvement, knowledge translation, innovation, and/or clinical/translational research is essential.
Remuneration for this full‑time position is $418,920 annually consistent with the current Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Pathologists in Ontario 2026/27.
