POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Coordinator is responsible for the technical administration of PowerSchool, PowerTeacher Pro, and other related student information system modules, as required. The role supports systems administration, data integration, and the maintenance of student information systems, including the Provincial Approach to Student Information (PASI) and Education Information System (EIS). The Data Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, security, and effective use of student data while supporting reporting requirements and system operations. The incumbent is expected to remain current with software enhancements, security updates, and best practices through ongoing collaboration with key staff and participation in professional learning opportunities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Student Information Systems Administration– coordinate the day-to-day operations of student information systems. Maintain and support current PASI, EIS, PowerSchool, and PowerTeacher Pro environments. Work with technical support staff to ensure the latest versions are maintained. Assist with the development and implementation of the annual schedule of operations. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to the use and security of the Information System.
- Data Management and Reporting– perform activities related to data extraction and reporting for accountability and funding requirements. Review, verify, and extract student data and other relevant student information required for reporting functions. Work with Provincial Liaison Workers, Administrative Support staff, and School Districts to assist with the completion and submission of the Nominal Roll. Ensure data entry is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Technical Support and Collaboration– act as a liaison between end-users and internal and external support staff. Provide Help Desk support to end-users. Work collaboratively with Tsuut’ina Nation Education Department school administration support staff. Participate in professional learning opportunities related to PowerSchool and other software applications, as required.
- Operational Support– maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and outside regular school hours to support service issues, system updates, and operational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Desired Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Training and experience related to the use of student information systems, including PowerSchool.
- Training and experience related to PASI requirements, including the use of PASI Prep.
- Experience working in a school office environment, preferably at the high school level.
- Knowledge of student enrollment, course coding, scheduling, and attendance processes.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and virtual communication tools.
- Knowledge of Tsuut’ina language and culture.
