Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the Markham facility and ensuring all production equipment operates safely and efficiently. This includes servicing vacuum pumps, sanding grinding machines, and other common manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate is resourceful, mechanically skilled, and focused on maximizing equipment uptime. This role includes mechanical and basic electrical repairs, upgrades, and general facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

Perform testing, calibration, preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and new equipment installations in compliance with applicable regulations.

Ensure all equipment is fully operational to prevent production disruptions.

Manage and execute a preventative maintenance program, including routine checks on production equipment, and report potential issues to Management.

Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and replacement components.

Purchase replacement parts and supplies required for equipment maintenance.

Install new equipment according to site requirements and manufacturer specifications.

Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including fire codes, emergency evacuation protocols, building security, and safe operation of machinery.

Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, gas, HVAC, and painting.

Support office maintenance needs (e.g., hanging pictures, repairing desks).

Move furniture and equipment within or into the building as required.

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the facility.

Perform general labor tasks to support operational needs.

Welding and fabrication experience preferred but not required.
Requirements & Qualifications

3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Trades Certification is good to have but not required

Strong knowledge of hand and power tools, with the ability to use them safely and effectively.

Ability to complete daily maintenance and repair logs.

Ability to organize, maintain, and secure tools and work areas.

Knowledge of proper lockout/tagout procedures.

Ability to fabricate parts or components from metal or wood using sketches, drawings, or original parts.

Active participation in the Health & Safety Committee.
