Full job description

For over twenty years, Oxford College has been serving various communities of the GTA by offering professional diplomas and life-changing learning opportunities. Our team of hardworking professionals helps us provide an effective and well-rounded education, and we're proud to see it growing each year.

We are currently seeking an innovative and dedicated Graphic Designer who could be you! This is an opportunity to be at the core of Oxford College’s graphic designing activities, which are central to the company’s marketing ambitions.

You will collaborate with our marketing department to create effective, eye-catching images and campaigns to increase our customer base. Your duties include developing graphics for print and digital platforms that enhance our accompanying text and convey an accurate message. Our ideal candidate has a substantial portfolio of successful campaigns and is proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.

As an expert in graphic designing, you will:

Design company logos, letterheads, brochures, presentations, promotional materials, and website elements.
Meet with team members to determine requirements and vision for design elements, which may include multiple strategy meetings.
Develop illustrations by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
Create multiple different versions of a similar product and send them through approvals.
Select fonts, colours, shapes, designs, styles, and layouts for projects.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral.
Work with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design.
Test graphics across various media.
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends by attending workshops, courses, and reading relevant material.
Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.
Review finalized materials to be sure there are no errors.
Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces.
Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects
Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.

Skills and Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in graphic design.
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web.
Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.
A creative mindset to be able to bring a design to life with simple instructions.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, design or a related field (preferred).
Exceptional creativity and innovation.
Experience with both print and electronic media.
Excellent eye for detail.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
