Explor Resources Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Galleon Gold Corp. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mine Planner / Surveyor to join our West Cache Mine technical services team in Timmins, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and advancement of an emerging underground gold mine while working alongside a dedicated team focused on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Mine Planner / Surveyor will be responsible for underground survey activities, mine planning, design, and technical support to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Mine Surveying
- Conduct underground and surface surveys to support mine development, production, and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate mine survey control networks and coordinate systems.
- Prepare and update survey plans, stope surveys, development progress surveys, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Manage survey data and maintain accurate records and databases.
Mine Planning
- Develop and maintain short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans.
- Design underground development layouts, stopes, ramps, and associated infrastructure.
- Generate production forecasts and scheduling plans to support operational objectives.
- Monitor mining progress against plan and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with geology, operations, and engineering teams to ensure efficient extraction of mineral resources.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for management.
Technical Support
- Assist with reconciliation of mine production and resource models.
- Support budgeting and cost estimation processes.
- Participate in ventilation, ground control, and infrastructure planning initiatives.
- Promote and support a strong safety culture throughout the operation.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mine Engineering, Mining Technology, Geomatics, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in underground mining operations.
- Experience with underground mine planning and survey practices.
- Proficiency with industry software such as Deswik, MineSight, AutoCAD, Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar mine planning and survey platforms.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods and mine design principles.
- Experience with total stations, GPS systems, and underground survey equipment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in underground gold mining operations.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario.
- Ontario Undergroun115d Hard Rock Miner Common Core and Supervisor Common Core certifications.
- Experience supporting mine development and bulk sample programs.

Location
This position is based at the West Cache Mine, Timmins, Ontario. The successful candidate must be willing to work at site and participate in site-based schedules as required.
