Position Purpose and Summary
The Manager, Donor Recognition and Investments is responsible for the program management of the University’s named award program (scholarships and awards), the investment program, program endowments and donor recognition initiatives. The role oversees the development and administration of donor recognition vehicles, including gift agreements, customized stewardship reports, and endowment reporting. This role also oversees the management and administration of TWU’s investment program.

This is a full-time position.
Areas of Accountability

Names Awards (Annual and Endowed) and Program Endowments
-
Donor relations and award management
-
Provide ongoing written and verbal communications with donors regarding their existing awards in an effort to promote growth of awards and steward their relationship with TWU.

Collaborate with Advancement team colleagues to assist with the scholarship and award terms and criteria; including program endowment terms.

Draft the “Donor Application Form” for the creation of new awards for Advancement team as they liaise with donors directly.

Internal award management
-
Work collaboratively with the Financial Aid Office to ensure awards are established, advertised and awarded in a timely manner in keeping with donor’s intent and TWU’s awards guidelines.

Work collaboratively with Financial Services to ensure accurate internal accounting and external reporting to award donors in a timely manner.

Provide internal endowment reporting data to Advancement leadership and major and planned giving officers.

Student assistance fund program (SAF)
-
Ensure the program operates within CRA guidelines.
-
Ensure students qualify for the program, and the Financial Aid Office awards SAF funding to qualified students.

Provides accurate accounting and promotion of the program.
-
Manage the endowed and annual award recipients’ thank you letters and forward to all scholarship patrons annually.

Provide annual updated endowment reports for donors who have program endowments.

Assist with student coordination and communication for the annual Legacy Luncheon and communication with donors regarding their student recipients who will be in attendance.

Investment Program
-
Investment program management (Promissory Note and RRSP/RIF).
-
Liaise with Olympia Trust for all RRSP, RRIP accounts.

Provide external communication with investors for all Promissory Note communications and internal communications with Financial Services to ensure accurate reporting of all investment agreements.

Investment program reporting

Provide accurate internal accounting and external reporting to Promissory Note and RRSP investors in a timely manner.
Gift Agreement Management-
Draft all new gift agreements for capital, faculty, program naming and campus enhancement initiatives.

Ensure agreements align with institutional gift acceptance policies, naming standards, and term durations.

Coordinate with the assigned Advancement Team member on revisions and approvals.

Circulate finalized agreements for senior leadership approval and signature.
-
Maintain signed agreements within the database and appropriate Advancement e-filing systems.
Custom Stewardship Reports-
In collaboration with Advancement Services, manage timelines and tracking for custom stewardship reports for principal and major gift donors.

Draft bespoke stewardship reports in partnership with Advancement colleagues, tailored to each donor and gift.

Standards and Requirements
Education: Post-secondary degree required
Experience: 5+ years of office/administrative experience. Experience with accounting and program administration is beneficial.
