Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting food preparation, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and experience in food handling, with a focus on delivering quality meals in a fast-paced setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry.. Funded by Canada Jobs

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes
Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from head chefs or kitchen managers
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation standards
Serve prepared meals to customers efficiently and courteously
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation standards are met
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow food safety protocols at all times to prevent contamination or spoilage

Skills

Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments preferred
Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
Ability to serve meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques within the food industry
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a busy kitchen setting
Good communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and servers
Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the culinary arts who are eager to grow their skills within a professional kitchen environment. Prior experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is advantageous but not required. We value teamwork, cleanliness, and dedication to providing excellent food service.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
