Working in the laboratory of Professor Boris Bernhardt, the Research Assistant 1 will be in charge of the following:

Patient Coordination

participant recruitment, scheduling, and handling
Communicate preparation instructions and follow-up details to patients.
Provide support during patient imaging sessions.
Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is complete.

Administrative Support:

coordination of and assisting in diverse data acquisitions (MRI, EEG, cognitive testing, specimen collection)
data transfer, quality control, open science activities.
coordinating REB/IRB applications to consolidate ongoing and planned research activities.
Participate in research activities in the form of data analysis, scientific writing, and conference participation.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with lab members, technicians, clinical department.
Coordinate handovers and updates with team members.

Operational Management:

Ensure lab compliance with administrative protocols.
Troubleshoot scheduling or communication issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree
At least one year of experience in working with patient populations. Experience in epilepsy research and interest in working with people with epilepsy and autism.
Experience in cognitive testing and/or EEG and/or MRI studies. Skills in multimodal data processing (EEG, MRI, …) as well as prior record of academic publications.
Experience in writing IRB/REB applications is an asset.
Excellent spoken/written English and French and prior experience to working in a multidisciplinary setting with a group of researchers and clinicians.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Attention to detail and priority setting skills.
Ability and enthusiasm to work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and trainees.
