Full job description

We are seeking Ontario Licensed Security Guards who have at least 2 years of experience in security, have worked in social services or have done community work in shelters or have served the vulnerable sector. Bonus if you have a vehicle and G license, and are available for flexible shifts in the Hamilton area.

The selected individual will monitor safety and provide service to guests and staff, manage access to building, will do exterior patrols and deal with emergencies, incidents and identify risks to staff and guests.

Responsibilities:

Monitor premises and prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules, suspicious or criminal acts
Thoroughly examine entrances and access points to ensure proper function and security
Successfully de-escalate and negotiate during tense and potentially dangerous situations.
Communicate effectively with violators of premise rules and regulations
Report any facility issues such as fire hazards, building safety violations, alarm or panel malfunctions.
Write thorough and grammatically correct reports and logs.
Be able to act and manage high risk situations and assist emergency personnel as required
Assist staff with support of programs and protocols within the premises

Qualifications:

Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields (at least 2 year of security guard work experience)
Valid Ontario G driver's license
Standard First Aid with CPR Level C by Red Cross or St John's Ambulance (Proof of Valid certificate will be requested)
Familiarity with security equipment
Physically able to manage, react, stay calm and act quickly and successfully during high stress situations and incidents. - de-escalation training
Strong attention to detail
Ability to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods of time
Must be Ontario licensed
Proficient in English with good communication skills (written and verbal) for incident reporting and documentation..
Available for Part-time/On-Call assignments for weekends, evening and midnights
Trained in Harm Reduction, overdose prevention.
