(CRCL) Supervisor (Evening Shift: 32 hours/week)

We are seeking Evening Shift Supervisors to join BC’s first Community-Led Crisis Response (CRCL) team, working Thursday to Saturday evenings, as well as Monday afternoons or Sunday to Wednesday evenings.
CRCL is a community-led crisis response service that provides in-person support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis on the North Shore. Our trained crisis responders offer immediate assistance, de-escalation, and follow-up support to people aged 13 and older.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to a team that dispatches from a central location to communities across the North Shore, delivering consent-based, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental crisis support while helping individuals connect with relevant community resources and services.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the barriers many people face when accessing healthcare and social services, extensive knowledge of local community resources, and a demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, cultural humility, and person-centred care.

Direct reports: Evening shift Crisis Responders and Dispatch Navigators
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides supervision to a dynamic team of crisis responders and dispatch navigators, including coaching, debriefing, timely feedback provision, performance management and review, and general practice support.
- Models and promotes respectful workplace values, collaboration, inclusion and teamwork among staff.
- Promotes collaboration with other CMHA programs and services including but not limited to counselling, outreach etc.
- Works to meet or exceed program dispatch targets set in collaboration with BC Division and other service providers.
- Positively represents the program with community partners, clients, stakeholders, and rights holders.
- Ensures that schedules, program and employee documentation, statistics, client notes etc. are recorded in accordance with CMHA policies and relevant privacy legislation.
- Oversees day-to-day operations (including effectively managing workflow and timelines pertaining to a variety of projects/tasks simultaneously, in various stages of completion).
- Assists with orientation and training of crisis responders.
- Participates in team meetings, continuing education, conferences, and/or program initiatives and assist in on-going team planning, development, evaluation and quality improvement activities.
- Assists with the development of and promotes understanding and adoption of CRCL program policies and procedures amongst staff.
- Encourages staff engagement with CMHA NWV values in their interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Supports administrative duties such as scheduling, facilitating meetings, and data entry when needed.
- Completes all required training including but not limited to Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Naloxone administration, etc.

- Demonstrated ability to identify emotional, social, or environmental barriers and intervene to eliminate stigma.
- Knowledge of harm reduction principles, crisis prevention and intervention, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
- Experience working with people living with disabilities and/or multiple barriers including poverty, racism, trauma, non-dominant language, culture, sexuality or identified gender, and mental health or substance use challenges.
- Degree or Diploma in mental health, Counselling or Social Work.
- Experience in the field of crisis de-escalation, mental health, substance use disorder, and harm reduction.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience.
- Must have experience with using Office 365 platform and Outlook platforms.
- Valid First Aid and CPR- C with AED, Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone, Trauma-Informed Practices (or willingness to complete it).
- Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment.
- Valid BC driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- De-escalation training and indigenous cultural competency training are recommended.
Hours of Work and Considerations
Hours: Thursday to Saturday, 4:00pm to 12:00am plus Monday 12pm to 8pm (Monday shift time negotiable) or Sunday to Wednesday 4:00pm to 12:00am (Monday shift 2pm-10pm) which includes a paid 30-minute interrupted meal break.
Location: On location at the Marine Drive office in North Vancouver.
Salary: $34 per hour starting wage.
