Full job description

The successful candidate will perform ophthalmic technician duties and occasionally medical office assistant duties at our Ophthalmology Clinic. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is comfortable in a busy work environment and thrives working within a team! This role requires rock solid reliability and an individual who works with exceptional integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail and accuracy, has strong organizational skills, and is patient while working under pressure. We are quickly expanding, so there is a lot of room to grow.

Requirements for the position:

*** Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician or MOA in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is preferred but not required***

⦁ Fluency in English (speaking and writing).

⦁ Being MOA or ophthalmic technician certified is an asset but not required.

⦁ Experience as an MOA or ophthalmic technician is preferred but not required. On the job training will be given.

⦁ Accuro EMR experience is an asset.

⦁ Must be computer literate and able to operate a normal range of office equipment (telephone, computer, and photocopier)

Key responsibilities:

⦁ General reception duties inclusive of answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, including out of clinic diagnostic testing appointments. Scanning and faxing documents as required.

⦁ Providing competent administration of visual field tests, OCT, fundus photography, IOL measurements, intraocular pressure testing, etc. Training can be provided on the job.

⦁ Promoting excellent patient care. Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint.
