Duties:
System Analyst is responsible for maintaining and supporting several systems within the Manitoba Geological Survey and the Mining, Oil and Gas Branches, including the Integrated Mining and Quarrying System (iMaQs), Map Gallery, Petrinex, the Manitoba Oil and Gas Well Information System (MOGWIS), and additional legacy systems. The role is involved in planning and testing future system enhancements, coordinating activities such as system testing and training for staff and end users. The position also participates in business requirements gathering, test planning, change management, and project management activities. The incumbent provides centralized iMaQs support to staff across the Manitoba Geological Survey and the Mining, Oil and Gas Branches in both Winnipeg and regional offices.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary education in Business Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in managing and administering custom software and applications
- Demonstrated experience designing, creating and documenting system testing, and documenting processes and procedures
- Experience learning new software and systems quickly
- Demonstrated business/system analysis skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and make sound judgement
- Experience with coaching, training, and supporting end users
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with team members
- Experience working with SharePoint and/or Microsoft Office 365
