The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Automation Tester with expertise in test automation and a solid understanding of ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks, with a focus on end-to-end testing, data validation, and ensuring system quality. A background in ETL testing, including writing and executing complex SQL queries to verify data consistency and accuracy, is highly desirable.

Your key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Rest Assured
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BAs, Manual Testers, Developers) in an Agile SDLC environment
- Manage QA efforts for complex systems, ensuring regulatory compliance in data workflows
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, promoting best practices in QA
- Coordinate activities between onshore and offshore teams to ensure consistent delivery and communication
- Support performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help manage resource allocation
- Contribute to technical proposals and client presentations to support new business opportunities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align QA strategies with customer and business objectives
- Leverage cloud-based testing strategies for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments
- Drive efficient defect lifecycle management using tools like JIRA, ALM, or TestRail
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using AI-assisted tools and agentic AI to accelerate scripting, execution, and maintenance
- Design and implement AI agents leveraging GPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot or similar for smart test generation, self-healing automation, and defect management
- Integrate AI-driven automation into CI/CD pipelines for optimized test execution and faster feedback cycles
Skills and attributes for success:
- Comprehensive understanding of SDLC and STLC methodologies and deliverables
- Hands-on experience with LLMs (GPT, Claude), GitHub Copilot, and building or using AI agents / agentic workflows is huge plus
- Ability to apply AI effectively to improve automation efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Proficiency in test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, etc.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Consulting mindset with the ability to translate complex requirements into effective test strategies
- Experience working with client stakeholders and managing distributed teams
- Ability to understand and align testing initiatives with long-term business goals
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- 7+ years of experience in an Automation Test Lead or Tester role
- 7+ years of software implementation experience, preferably on transformation projects
- In-depth knowledge of automation testing tools like Selenium, Cypress and Rest Assured
- Proven expertise in ETL testing domains and complex data validation
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of 6–12 members
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and CI/CD pipelines

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- Toronto : $88,000 to $132,000
