Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As a Furniture Specialist within the People, Places & Spaces (PP&S) team, you will contribute to building innovative, inspiring spaces that reflect our brand and culture. Your core focus will be delivering furniture, signage, and artwork solutions from initial concept, programming, selection, and specification, to procurement and final installation oversight across our retail branch network and corporate locations.Your passion for the finished product, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a desire to curate a thoughtful client and team member experience, will be instrumental in shaping the future of our client’s workplace environments.

PP&S is our clients real estate and facilities business unit. They oversee 1.5 million square feet of space across Canada and lead real estate strategy, workplace optimization & experience, spatial design, construction, project management, leasing, facilities management, asset management, occupational health & safety, and physical security. Responsibilities
- Asset & Lifecycle Management

Furniture Management: Coordinate the technical specification, budget estimation, procurement, and disposition of all furniture assets.

Inventory Optimization: Leverage current furniture inventory (both on-site and in storage) to find creative solutions that optimize asset reuse across the portfolio.

Standards Maintenance: Apply established brand standards and specifications while staying informed of furniture industry trends to ensure cost-effective, modern, and visually consistent environments.

Technical Execution & Documentation

Systems Furniture Expertise: Act as the primary technical resource for systems furniture workstations, ensuring all layouts integrate seamlessly with electrical, data, building infrastructure, and technology.

Drawing Documentation: Develop and maintain technical drawings of furniture for integration into our Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS). Maintain a standard library of furniture symbols and ensure all drawings are compliant.

Safety Compliance: Prepare building evacuation floor plans and ensure strict compliance with safety regulations.

Project Coordination & Quality Assurance

Procurement & Lead-Time Oversight: Manage the end-to-end ordering process, including vendor quotes, purchase orders, and tracking of long-lead items to meet project timelines.

Ancillary Program Oversight: Oversee the selection, procurement, placement, and installation of signage, accessories, and artwork to enhance spatial navigation and brand experience.

Logistics & Move Coordination: Monitor complex project timelines and delivery schedules, often in occupied environments, without disrupting ongoing business operations.

Quality Assurance & Site Care: Conduct regular site visits to ensure furniture and signage installations adhere to standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

Vendor Management: Partner closely with external vendors to ensure accuracy in furniture drawings, specifications, and quotations.
Qualifications
-
3 to 5 years of experience in workplace design, with a strong background in contract furniture specification and a proven track record handling large-scale systems furniture projects

Advanced, hands-on experience utilizing AutoCAD and Revit to produce precise furniture, signage, and artwork plans.

Deep familiarity with the commercial contract furniture market, signage fabrication processes, regional building codes, and safety regulations.

Ability to transform business objectives and brand identity into tangible furniture and ancillary solutions that support the changing nature of work, culture, wayfinding, and accessibility.

Expertise in integrating empathy-led design principles—such as universal accessibility, neurodiversity considerations, and wellness standards—into technical drawings.

Proven ability to proactively engage with key stakeholders and partner with cross-functional teams. Confidently communicate sound reasoning for design and technical decisions to maintain project alignment.

Ability to create 2D furniture plans and 3D renderings to help stakeholders visualize furniture, artwork, and signage applications prior to procurement.

Proficiency in cost-estimating and value-engineering furniture packages to meet strict project budgets without compromising design intent.

Comprehensive knowledge of furniture construction, materials, and product lifecycles to ensure long-term value, durability, and confident day-to-day decision-making.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Facility Management, or a closely related field.
