Paramount Power Systems Ltd. is currently seeking a Purchaser & Supply Chain Analyst to join our growing team.
The candidate will perform the following job duties for this vacant role:
- Source and procure generator components, including engines, alternators, control panels, switchgear, fuel systems, batteries, and other electrical and mechanical parts required to support production and service operations.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare supplier quotations to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, delivery, and performance standards.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through effective collaboration, strategic sourcing, pricing negotiations, and ongoing monitoring of order status to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Review and manage supplier pricing, lead times and contractual agreements to support operational objectives and cost control initiatives.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of documentation and obtaining appropriate authorization from the Controller prior to procurement activities.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, approved budgets, and established procurement procedures.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies to support production schedules, project requirements, inventory replenishment, and service operations.
- Analyze inventory levels and manage replenishment activities based on minimum stock requirements, production forecasts, demand planning, and supplier lead times.
- Identify and resolve supply chain challenges related to forecasting, procurement, supplier performance, and production scheduling to minimize operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, reducing downtime and mitigating material shortages.
- Maintain and update production forecasts by processing new sales orders and proactively addressing potential material shortages.
- Generate and analyze reports related to procurement activities, supplier performance, lead-time trends, inventory requirements, and cost management initiatives.
- Provide accurate and timely information regarding material availability, pricing, supplier lead times, and procurement status to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain current supplier pricing and purchasing data within the ERP system to support forecasting, budgeting, inventory management, and operational planning.
- Minimize emergency and expedited purchasing requirements through effective planning, forecasting, and coordination with project management, production, and service teams.
- Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, and inventory control initiatives to ensure data accuracy and accountability.
- Work closely with Project Management, Production and the Service Department to support project execution, operational efficiency, and customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will also obtain the following qualifications & skills for the position:
- Post-secondary education in Procurement and or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or inventory planning.
- Experience within the generator, heavy equipment, or automotive industries is considered an asset.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Ability to handle confidential and controlled information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and data analysis.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
