Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading business analysis efforts across two major streams of work, including gathering requirements, optimizing operational risk processes, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure successful operationalization and rollout. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, risk management skills, and exceptional abilities in process documentation, tool utilization (Jira and Google Workspace), and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- BA Deliverables and Accountabilities:

Operational Documentation: Create comprehensive team-supporting documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Playbooks) for processes to manage ongoing data scans. This includes designing workflows for risk categorization (risk rating), prioritization, remediation (determining where action or inaction is required), and reporting (trending).

Scan and Remediation Management: Actively manage scan outputs and track remediation work utilizing a Jira board. Collaborate with leadership to determine and transition responsibility to the long-term operational team.

Rollout Support: Support the next phase of data scan candidates and broader enterprise rollouts.

Stakeholder Management: Work closely with stakeholders (such as Data Owners, Application Owners, and individuals) to define, clarify, and establish their ongoing roles and responsibilities.
- Organizational Change Management (OCM): Collaborate with OCM partners to draft and deploy enterprise-wide communications and change management activities surrounding data loss prevention strategies and updates.

Responsibilities:

Lead Business Analysis activities and collaborate with other BAs, Product, Risk, and technical teams to deliver complex data protection solutions.

Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys.

Conduct gap analysis to assess differences between current data states and desired protection baselines, highlighting opportunities for risk mitigation.

Actively participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement), ensuring user stories are well-defined and prioritized in Jira.

Translate business and risk requirements into detailed functional specifications, process maps, and data models.

Guide and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that risk tracking, policies, and reporting match business expectations.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of progressive experience working as a Business Analyst

Experience with Risk Process Optimization & Metric Maturation - Strong experience in operational risk management, specifically around maturing risk processes and tracking Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Evidence of designing risk categorization (risk rating), prioritization, and remediation workflows to determine where active mitigation or inaction is required.

Experience with High-Value Operational Documentation (SOPs & Playbooks) - demonstrating the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Playbooks used by long-term operational teams to manage ongoing data scans and trending reports.

Data Security, DLP, or DSPM Familiarity - Core familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) concepts. Experience conducting data gap analyses to evaluate differences between current data states and desired protection baselines, ideally within a heavily regulated environment like Banking, Fintech, or Enterprise Tech.

Direct Exposure to Enterprise Data Repositories - analyzing, scanning, or managing data within repositories like Google Cloud environments (GCS, Cloud SQL, BigQuery), SAP, Box, DocuSign, or data-scanning tools like Cyera.

Hands-on Jira Remediation & Google Workspace Tracking - actively managing scan outputs and tracking remediation pipelines utilizing a Jira board, alongside using Google Workspace for team documentation and collaboration.

Agile Delivery & Core BA Competencies - Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement), mapping processes, writing precise user stories, and guiding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that risk tracking matches business expectations.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management (OCM) - Experience partnering with Organizational Change Management (OCM) to deploy enterprise-wide communications, and collaborating directly with Data and Application Owners to define and establish long-term operational roles.

Additional Skills "Nice to Have":

Experience or understanding of data-scanning tools (e.g., Cyera) and cloud data environments (e.g., BigQuery).

Background in data governance, information security, or compliance frameworks.

Experience working in closely regulated environments (e.g., Banking, Fintech, or Enterprise Technology).

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to have Certifications CBAP, CCBA, CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), CompTIA Security+ ect
