Purpose of position
Responsible for developing and managing corporate and employee communications, overseeing issues management, acting as corporate spokesperson, and managing the company’s suite of brand assets.
Key responsibilities

Develop corporate and internal communications, messaging for social media, recruitment marketing, and other external platforms;

Serve as manager and editor of the employee news publication, The Journal;

Manage various project-based assignments;
-
Represent the Corporate Communications department on various working groups;
-
Manage the suite of brand assets for Jazz Aviation LP;
-
Liaise with internal departments and deliver on requests requiring design and print production;
-
Oversee website content management;
-
Produce departmental videos with script writing and facilitation support, where required;
-
Support various departments in the communication of sensitive and/or important issues;

Lead participant in crisis communications and emergency response. Key contributor in incident response and media relations;

Work with Air Canada Corporate Communications to ensure coordinated messaging;

Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers and customers,
-
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
-
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism;
-
Seven to ten years’ experience in corporate communications and media relations;

Superior written and oral communication skills in English, including strong command of grammar, spelling, and professional writing style;

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

Demonstrated ability in desktop publishing and basic photo editing;

Experience with website content management systems;

At least two years’ experience working in brand management,

Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, dealing with stressful situations and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred qualifications
-
A degree, diploma, certificate or courses in graphic design;

Good understanding of issues facing the airline industry,
-
Bilingualism (English and French).
