Pod Squad Snacks is a small but growing Toronto snack company looking for a reliable, hands-on team member to help us make, package, and prepare our Mini Waffle Crisps. Our products are currently sold in retailers such as Farm Boy locations, Nature's Emporium and McEwan Fine Foods.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys food production, takes pride in doing things carefully, and wants to be part of a growing local brand. You’ll help prepare ingredients, operate production equipment, package finished products, clean and sanitize work areas, and follow food safety procedures. Responsibilities
- Operate food production equipment, including mixers, waffle machines, dehydrators, and packaging equipment
- Monitor product quality during production, including appearance, texture, colour, and consistency
- Package, label, and organize finished products
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control procedures
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas before, during, and after production
- Assist with inventory, ingredient storage, and general production setup
- Follow written standard operating procedures and complete basic production records as needed
- Work efficiently while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Qualifications
- Experience in food production, food handling, bakery production, or commercial kitchen work is an asset
- Food Handler Certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain it
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and doing repetitive hands-on tasks
- Able to lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Must be able to communicate in English
Nice to Have
- Experience operating commercial kitchen or food manufacturing equipment
- Experience with packaging, labeling, or quality control
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation procedures, or allergen controls

Job Type: Permanent
Location: Initially at our North York location near Leslie and 401, with potential future locations in North York area
Schedule: Production-based schedule; hours vary depending on production needs, but generally begin around 12 pm-1 pm and end around 6-7 pm
Expected Hours: Approximately 30–35 hours per week when production is running, with some weeks higher or lower and occasional non-production weeks
Pay: Starting pay at $17.60 per hour, based on experience
Start Date: As soon as possible
This is a permanent, variable-hours position. We are looking for someone who can grow with us as our production volume increases.
Hours will vary week to week depending on production needs but are generally expected to be 30-35 hours, Monday to Friday, with potential occasional weekend days. There may also occasionally be weeks with limited shifts, such as during shutdowns, holidays, or owner vacation periods.
This role is best suited for someone who is looking for ongoing work but is comfortable with a flexible, production-based schedule.
