Optometric Assistant

About Us

At Panorama Optometry, we are committed to delivering exceptional eye care in a friendly, professional, and patient-focused environment. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Optometric Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about healthcare and patient service.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and assist them throughout their visit
Perform preliminary testing and gather patient information prior to examinations
Accurately document patient history and update electronic health records
Prepare patients for examinations and assist the Optometrist as needed
Educate patients about procedures, products, and services
Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and clinical areas
Coordinate patient flow to ensure appointments run efficiently
Support reception duties, including scheduling appointments and answering phone inquiries when required
Assist with contact lens training, eyewear selection, and other patient care services as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in optometry, healthcare, medical administration, or customer service is an asset but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable learning and using electronic medical record systems and diagnostic equipment
Professional, reliable, and patient-focused

Schedule

Part-time position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role
