About This Role
This is the technical engine of our Owner's Consultant team. You will own the core Stage 1 deliverable: conducting a comprehensive ERP market scan and translating approximately 500 defined business capabilities into structured, defensible technical requirements ready for a Systems Integrator RFP.
The client has already completed a detailed current-state analysis and capabilities framework - you are not starting from scratch. But the client is open to business process redesign, meaning you need to be comfortable challenging existing assumptions and recommending change where justified.
Phase 4 of this engagement involves approximately 20 structured working sessions with the client's Core Team and subject matter experts across Finance, HR, and Supply Chain. Your ability to facilitate technically credible conversations and translate those conversations into procurement-ready requirements is what this role is about.
What You Will Do
- Lead the ERP market scan assessing the vendor landscape across PeopleSoft, modern SaaS ERP, and hybrid ecosystem options
- Own the capabilities-to-requirements translation converting 500 defined business capabilities into structured, vendor-agnostic technical requirements
- Lead Phase 4 working sessions approximately 20 structured sessions with the client Core Team and SMEs across Finance, HR, and Supply Chain
- Challenge existing capability assumptions and recommend process redesign where appropriate, given the client's confirmed openness to process change
- Produce the technical requirements document at a standard suitable for use as the foundation of the Stage 2 Systems Integrator RFP
- Advise on integration architecture data migration strategy, and platform governance considerations relevant to a hybrid ERP ecosystem
- Support procurement strategy ensuring technical requirements are structured for effective vendor evaluation in Stage 2
What You Bring
Required
- Hands-on PeopleSoft experience across at least two of Finance (GL, AP, AR, budgeting), HR and HCM, or Supply Chain modules
- Knowledge of at least one tier-1 SaaS ERP platform - SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, or Workday
- Prior involvement in at least two large-scale ERP market scans or technical assessments in an advisory capacity
- Demonstrated ability to translate business capabilities into structured technical requirements
- Strong facilitation skills for senior, multi-domain stakeholder groups -- you will run approximately 20 sessions
- No conflict of interest with major ERP vendors
Nice to Have
- Public sector ERP experience - municipal, provincial, federal, or crown corporation
- Familiarity with hybrid ERP ecosystem architecture including adjacency system integration
- Experience contributing to Systems Integrator RFP design and vendor evaluation frameworks
- Alberta or Western Canada experience
Important Disclosure
The successful candidate will be ineligible to bid on or participate in any subsequent Systems Integrator work arising from this ERP program. This is a non-negotiable conflict-of-interest control.
