ISE is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our Production team!
Reporting to the Manufacturing/Production Manager, the Manufacturing Technician plays a hands-on role building and testing complex electro-mechanical systems. Working from evolving drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions, they will prepare parts, perform precise electrical and mechanical assembly, inspect and test finished products, and contribute to improving build processes and documentation. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives on technical challenges, and brings strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, precision with workshop tools, and the ability to meet timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with a skilled team of engineers and technologists to build advanced marine technology.
· Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and low-voltage electrical systems.
· Support the installation, setup, and optimization of new equipment and tooling.
· Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation to execute precise assemblies.
· Assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems using a range of methods, including bonding and encapsulation.
· Perform product testing and inspection (e.g., pressure, load, and environmental testing) using specialized tools and methods.
· Help improve product designs, assembly processes, and documentation through hands-on feedback and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
· Prepare components for assembly using cleaning, surface preparation, and specialized materials such as adhesives and compounds.
· Accurately document work and ensure compliance with quality standards, identifying and addressing non-conforming parts.
· Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace at all times, while adhering to established safety procedures and best practices, as well as other required responsibilities.
Qualifications
· High school diploma/GED equivalent, and/or relevant workplace experience. Formal trades training from a recognized college preferred.
· Prior experience working with equipment for marine use, electro-mechanical devices, assembly of complex mechanical systems and components, test engineering, bonded assembly or encapsulation considered an asset.
· Proficient computer literacy suitable for update and release of documents and referencing technical documentation.
· Experience or willingness to learn engineering documentation.
· Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS certification, an asset.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to reliably commute to the workplace or relocate prior to the start date.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs independently.
Security Requirements
