Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including industrial machinery and farm equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery and utilize your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, tractors, RTVs, lawn mowers and other industrial machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics, wiring issues, sensors, and control modules to identify faults accurately.
Repair transmissions, engines, and hydraulics to ensure safe operation of all machinery.
Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance activities.

Experience

Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty equipment repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
Hands-on experience with schematics for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and farm or industrial equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and tire service.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent mechanical knowledge combined with electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience working with hand tools and power tools; capable of performing precise assembly and disassembly tasks.
Customer service skills are valued for communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
