Our Patterson Lake location is seeking an experienced Airport Manager to support our diverse operations. This is a full-time permanent position, working a rotation of 14 days in and 14 days out. Accommodations and flights from Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon provided.

Reporting to EFC’s Director, Aerodromes, the Airport Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day safe, efficient, and effective operations and supervision of the base.
The Airport Manager will oversee a workforce team which supplies a variety of airport services including airfield maintenance, wildlife control, aircraft ground handling, aircraft de/anti-icing, baggage handling, passenger services and aircraft refuelling.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Accountable Executive for the aerodrome, assuming overall responsibility for regulatory compliance and fulfillment of the airport certificate holder’s obligations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of programs required to achieve and maintain aerodrome certification.
- Ensure the aerodrome is operated and maintained in full compliance with applicable regulatory, legislative, and industry standards, including Transport Canada TP 312, Canada Labour Code, OH&S regulations, and all client and corporate policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to personnel delivering airport operations, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Ensure operations meet or exceed contractual Scope of Work and client requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of airport facilities and equipment in all weather conditions.
- Lead workforce management activities in collaboration with the client’s Human Resources team, including recruitment, performance management, and terminations.
- Lead the development of annual budgets and manage financial performance, ensuring operations remain within approved financial parameters.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for facilities, equipment, and staffing to support sustainable airport operations.
- Provide operational support as required, including airfield maintenance, ramp services, passenger services, refuelling, and aircraft de/anti-icing.
- Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and submission of all required operational and regulatory reports (e.g., NOTAMs, AMSCRs, KPI reporting, and client/regulatory reporting).
- Monitor operational performance against established goals and key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, regulators, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee training, quality assurance, and recordkeeping programs to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
- Lead and participate in audits and inspections, ensuring findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented.
- Promote and support a strong safety culture by leading Health & Safety and Quality initiatives.
- Participate in and support operational, safety, and leadership meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a related field, or an equivalent combination of aviation experience, education, training, and senior management experience in a highly regulated environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the aviation or airport industry, including aerodrome or airport operations, with exposure to human resources functions.
- Demonstrated senior leadership and management experience in an operational environment.
- Proven experience in contract administration, budgeting, financial management, and facility oversight.
- Proficiency with airport reporting systems and operational programs.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to exercise sound judgment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, leading teams with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract; Class 3 licence is considered an asset.
- Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including drug and alcohol testing and fitness-for-work assessments, as applicable.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions and flexible hours, including overtime and extended shifts.
