Position Summary:
In this dual-site role, the Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality department across two Ontario manufacturing facilities. This position serves as a strategic leader responsible for managing all quality functions within Manufacturing Operations.
The role ensures consistent implementation of quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains compliance with customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective cross-site coordination, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and performance optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and implement a unified quality strategy.
- Standardize quality systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Coordinate initiatives for APQP, PPAP, SPC, and other core quality tools.
- Monitor and report site-specific and consolidated quality metrics, including PPM, customer satisfaction, and audit results.
- Lead cross-functional teams across locations to resolve systemic quality issues and share best practices.
Quality Control and Compliance
- Oversee quality control activities for welded, machined, and fabricated components.
- Ensure conformance with engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Ensure documentation, audits, and corrective actions are executed consistently.
Non-Conformance and Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns; ensure timely resolution and communication.
- Manage internal and external non-conformance reports (NCRs) across facilities.
- Support new product launches, PPAP submissions, and process validation activities
Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve processes and first-pass yield.
- Utilize SPC, measurement data, and quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting and Performance Management
- Monitor KPIs and provide regular performance reports to senior leadership
- Use data-driven insights to prioritize improvement initiatives.The Quality Manager will report directly to the General Manager
Resources and Budget Management
- Oversee allocation of quality resources (staff, equipment, training).
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective quality operations.
Team Development and Oversight
- Implement training programs to elevate technical skills and standardize practices.
- Supervise and mentor Quality personnel; ensure alignment in training, performance, and development.
- Drive awareness of quality culture across all levels of the organization.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 7-10 years’ experience required in Quality department, or related field, leading teams, implemented processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline (required)
- ASQ Certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) (preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Quality Systems and Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA).
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and industry-specific quality standards
- Advanced Problem Solving (8D, RCA, 5-Phase)
Pay Transparency:
Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000
