We’re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone’s journeys better.

We are looking for someone with a passion for Operations Leadership for a position in our Toronto Flight Kitchen. If you have strong leadership skills and high-level labour planning experience , this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level. Reporting to the Manager, Ops, Transport, the Transportation Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of our Transport Team which is comprised of 100 plus Drivers that work in an extremely time sensitive industry. You will be working with your peers and team leads to ensure our goals around safety, security, on-time performance, and efficiency are met. As we are a 24hr/day, 7 days per week operation, you must be able to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Interfaces with the Customers’ schedules and airport information in real time, optimizing the allocation of workloads to the Drivers / Loaders in accordance with these requirements, safely meeting on time performance
Monitor Internal and External systems to determine arriving and departing flight times to arrange for drivers to meet aircraft for unloading/loading
Provides accurate and timely information to transportation supervisors / leads
Maintain clean working area, maintain clean loading docks, maintain clean equipment following rules
Comply with all safety rules and company standards
Wear uniform & safety shoes while on duty
Report / Communicate any irregularities to hierarchy and other teams on a daily basis
Inspect everyday if logbooks are properly filled, and report any discrepancy by email to the Handling Manager & the Unit Manager OR through the Dispatch daily written report
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred
High School diploma required

Work Experience:

Airport Work Experience preferred
Working in Transportation Dispatch role preferred
Experience of managing teams with a unionized workforce
AVOP/DA and RAIC preferred

Job Skills:

Ability to effectively use radio and phone for communication
Good decision-making ability in high pressure situations
Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
Demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively
Capable of working under pressure without close supervision
Experience with conflict resolution and problem solving
Good communication skills, verbal and written
Strong customer service skills
Ability to use computers is required (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)
Ability to pass all required security clearance for AVOP-DA & RAIC-Purple pass
Ability to read in English, write in English, speak in English
Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends (depending on assigned shift)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good decision-making ability in high pressure situations

Language / Communication Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills, interact well with multiple departments as required
Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills in English
Fluency in English is required. Other languages a plus.
