SCOPE:
- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to perform maintenance activities, including installing, inspecting, replacing, and repairing components, as well as troubleshooting manufacturing systems and building services. In addition, you will provide technical support to production teams to maximize production uptime and ensure the optimal functioning of production equipment and facilities. This position plays a critical role in reducing production downtime, implementing and maintaining maintenance programs, performing preventive maintenance, and effectively troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs troubleshooting, preventative and predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on production and facility equipment both inside and outside.
- Completion of work orders and ensure that the repairs have met the quality, safety and sanitation standards.
- Communicate and Collaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure efficient plant operation
- Ensures that Work Orders and all information is entered into COGZ Maintenance Management Program
- Recommends and participates in continuous improvements initiatives to increase operational efficiencies
- Repair and maintain HVAC systems for the Winnipeg plant and assist with HVAC repair and maintenance in the Ste Agathe plant when needed
- On-call / After-hours response to emergency equipment breakdowns
- Communicate and Collaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure efficient plant operation
- Work in a safe manner following all safety rules, PPE, LOTO, Fall Arrest, etc.
- Assist with general building repairs and maintenance indoor and outdoors as required (carpentry, snow clearing from employee entrances, emergency exits, trim and spray weeds as needed etc..)
- Other duties as assigned by the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of industrial/ manufacturing maintenance experience (food production plant an asset).
- Mechanical trades licensing as HVAC technician and gas ticket preferred.
- Very strong mechanical background and abilities to perform various maintenance activities.
- Other skills to perform building maintenance, carpentry, welding, plumbing, refrigeration mechanic, etc. an asset.
- Experience in maintaining preventive and ongoing maintenance programs.
- Working proficiency in CMMS COGZ. plus MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel.
