We’re hiring a permanent, full-time Production Operator in Saskatoon, SK to help us make, move, and ship the ingredients our customers count on. This isn’t a single-lane job: everyone on our team is cross-training across every department. You’ll start by mastering one area and grow into running our production lines, handling shipping and receiving, keeping our facility and equipment in good shape, and learning the systems that tie it all together.
Reporting to the Production Manager, this is a day-shift role to start. As we grow and cross-train the team, there may be a need for shift flexibility down the road, so a willingness to adapt your hours over time is a real asset.
You’re hands-on and dependable, and you take pride in doing a job properly. You love finding the better way: optimizing a process, staying organized, and communicating clearly with the people around you. You like variety, and when something’s off, whether it’s a reading on a machine or a spill that needs cleaning up, you deal with it instead of walking past it.
You’re tech-savvy in the everyday sense: comfortable picking up new apps and tools, and curious about how technology can make work better. You don’t need an IT background, just a willingness to dive into our new ERP and digital systems.
Above all, you want to make a real impact and to grow through coaching and good leadership. We’re hiring for potential and drive as much as experience: bring the right attitude, and we’ll help you build the rest.
You’ll be cross-trained across the operation over time. Depending on the day and where you’re needed, that means:
-
Operate processing equipment, test product, and adjust settings to meet product specifications.
-
Monitor output for consistency, weight, and packaging standards, and make adjustments as needed.
-
Clean, sanitize, and inspect equipment and work areas to meet food safety standards and keep a safe environment.
-
Complete accurate production, quality-control, and processing records.
-
Respond to Quality Assurance requests for product testing or documentation.
-
Move bulk food products for shipping, receiving, storage, and production, accurately and on time to meet customer demand.
-
Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks for cleanliness, odour, and food safety compliance.
-
Sample incoming bulk material to verify quality and purity, and report any discrepancies.
-
Label and store raw materials correctly, and keep inventory organized using First In, First Out (FIFO).
-
Complete shipping and receiving records, inventory tracking, and product certification.
-
Report any raw material damage or food safety issues to the Production Manager, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
-
Conduct routine checks on equipment and machinery to catch problems before they cause downtime.
-
Perform minor repairs and maintenance to keep the line moving.
-
Keep the warehouse, yard, and work areas clean, organized, and safe, including pallet organization and proper waste and recycling disposal.
-
Operate a forklift and aerial work platforms (AWPs) safely and efficiently.
-
Pitch in wherever the team needs you: supporting other production staff, replenishing supplies, and relocating materials.
-
Partner with Quality Assurance on contamination or spoilage issues to find root causes and corrective actions.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement: spot waste, suggest better workflows, and help us run more efficiently.
-
Learn and use our new ERP and digital systems to keep production, inventory, and shipping data accurate.
-
Help train and support new team members as you build your own expertise.
-
A true all-rounder role: cross-trained across production, shipping/receiving, and facility/maintenance, not boxed into one task.
-
A company in real transformation: new ERP, automations, products, and markets.
-
Room to grow, with proper training and a team that invests in you rather than just throwing you on the floor.
-
Reliable, safety-minded, and ready for physical, hands-on work in a food production and warehouse environment.
-
Strong attention to detail in documentation, labelling, and inventory.
-
Basic mechanical aptitude for routine checks and minor repairs.
-
Good communication and a team-first attitude.
-
Organized, able to prioritize and switch between tasks as the day demands.
-
Comfortable learning and using technology, including a new ERP.
-
Willing and able to operate, or be trained and certified on, a forklift and AWPs.
-
Eager to learn and be cross-trained across departments.
-
Experience in food manufacturing, grain or pulse processing, or another industrial production environment.
-
Forklift and/or AWP certification.
-
Familiarity with food safety programs (HACCP, BRC, OHS, Food Defense).
-
Experience with an ERP, inventory, or production tracking system.
-
Competitive hourly wage, full benefits, and three weeks of paid vacation.
-
Hands-on cross-training and a clear path to grow your skills and your value.
-
A leadership team that is actively investing in your success.
-
Be part of a company with a proven track record and ambitious plans for growth.
-
Work with a talented, dedicated team and cutting-edge technology.
-
Opportunity to make a real impact on food production and consumption.
