Summary
(Please note, this job posting is for our West Kelowna Location)
We are looking for a seasonal employee for the 2026 summer season, with potential, depending on work load, to extend into the winter season. Please apply if you are looking for or have experience in underground fiber optic cable placement.
Essential Functions
- General labor to support the installation, repair and replacement of underground telecommunications lines
- Follow company safety standards, policies and procedures at all times
- Aspire to work in a team environment with increased responsibly being expected
Qualifications
- MUST provide a driver’s abstract and confirm a minimum 3 years continuous current insurance with no claims or convictions on record
- Minimum class 5 license
- Grade 12 or GED
- 1+ year of construction and/or landscaping experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Hand tool experience (IE Drills, saws, jackhammers, ECT) an asset
- 6 months experience operating trucks and trailers preferred
- BC trailer endorsement an asset
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to complete medical assessment, fit testing and correctly use and wear a fit-tested ½ mask respirator
- Ability to continuously wear and effectively use mandatory PPE (CSA approved steel toed boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat)
- Ability to wear and effectively use task specific PPE (cut resistant gloves, CSA approved safety glasses with side shields)
- The successful candidate should be okay with a flexible schedule and have an ability to work with different people and tasks
