Bradken is one of the world’s leading solutions providers for mining equipment parts. We specialize in the innovative design and manufacture of cast and fabricated iron and steel products for the mining and resources sector, and we also expertly serve rail and transit, energy, structural and industrial casting and defence markets.
The Manufacturing Helper supports production activities across the fabrication and manufacturing areas by assisting skilled trades and operators, handling materials, and performing basic production and preparation tasks. The role supports operations that include welding, machining, cutting, and thermal processes under the direction and supervision of the Production Supervisor or Lead, contributing to safe, efficient workflow and adherence to quality and production requirements.
Role Responsibilities
- Follow all safe work procedures when working around rotating machinery, cutting systems, energized equipment, and welding operations.
- Maintain situational awareness when supporting boring mill, lathe, and cutting operations, including guarding and pinch‑point hazards.
- Report unsafe conditions, tooling issues, or quality concerns immediately.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in metal manufacturing environment an asset.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
Experience:
- The ability to read blueprints is an asset
- Knowledge of oil and gas and the manufacturing industry is an asset
- Solid understanding of the use and care of hand and power tools and equipment of the trade
Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around heavy equipment.
- Understanding of hazards associated with rotating machinery and machining processes.
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety requirements.
- Willingness to learn multiple production support functions across machining and fabrication areas.
