The Asset:
The Albright facility is a 1st-class plant located near the communities of Beaverlodge and Wembley. The Albright Gas Plant will serve the growing sour natural gas processing needs of multiple producers with Montney and Charlie Lake production in the region and will significantly enhance CSV’s existing platform of natural gas processing infrastructure in Alberta’s prolific Montney play. With natural gas processing capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day, Albright will also recover and conserve up to 370 tonnes of sulphur per day and will be the first greenfield gas plant with sulphur recovery to be constructed in Alberta in nearly 30 years.
Overview:
The Day Foreman will be responsible for the daily operations of the asset. This includes all aspects of plant production, maintenance, and ongoing leadership and direction for the plant operators.
The Day Foreman (Lead Operator) is expected to work a 4×3 schedule, working days.
Please note that this is not a camp position. Must be willing to relocate to Grande Prairie if not already living in the area.
Key Accountabilities:
The Day Foreman will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on operational leadership and technical guidance to Gas Plant Operators to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance
- Serve as a primary point of support for troubleshooting plant issues, resolving complex processes and equipment challenges, and coordinating with Engineering and Maintenance as needed
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership by promoting hazard awareness, supporting risk assessments, and reinforcing safe work practices across all operations
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE standards, regulatory requirements (including ABSA and AER), and site procedures, addressing and communicating any deficiencies promptly
- Monitor plant performance and support optimization efforts to maximize production while maintaining cost effectiveness
- Maintain and continuously improve operating procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence across all shifts
- Actively participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes, providing operational input, supporting implementation, and ensuring proper documentation and communication
- Support planning and execution of plant activities including startups, shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning events to ensure safe and efficient outcomes
- Coordinate with Maintenance teams to align operational and maintenance priorities, including supporting work execution and equipment reliability initiatives
- Mentor and coach operators, reinforcing technical competency, knowledge sharing, and consistent operating discipline
- Oversee critical operational activities including sampling, inspections, and regulatory log management to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness
- Provide alternate coverage for Chief Steam Engineer and/or Plant Coordinator when required
- Perform other related duties as required
Education and Experience requirements:
The successful candidate must be a 3rd Class Power Engineer as a minimum qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with a 1st Class or 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience operating within a gas processing environment
- Strong technical expertise in areas such as sulphur recovery, gas compression, gas treating (sweetening), refrigeration systems, condensate stabilization, steam production, and water treatment processes
- Proven capability to diagnose and resolve complex process and equipment issues while identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and ongoing improvement
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring, coaching, and positively influencing team members’ development
- Excellent communication abilities, with a track record of effective collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Health & Safety functions
- High level of professionalism, sound decision-making, strong organizational capabilities, and a consistent focus on operational excellence
- Competent with computer systems, including experience using Open Invoice, work order programs, and SCADA-related programs
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Proficiency with Emerson Delta-V Automation systems is an asset
