We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our growing Mechanical Engineering team. This opportunity is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys technical design, problem solving, and working collaboratively with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.
Reporting to the Intermediate Mechanical Designer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical building systems projects while gaining exposure to a wide range of project types and engineering disciplines.

The Opportunity
This position is ideal for a Mechanical Designer who enjoys balancing technical design, project coordination, and continuous learning.
You will support engineers and senior designers in delivering mechanical building systems projects while developing your expertise in drafting, design, construction administration, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
What You'll Do
Mechanical Design & Drafting
- Prepare mechanical engineering drawings, schedules, details, and construction documents from conceptual design through tender and construction.
- Assist in the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical building systems.
- Apply Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and other applicable standards to project designs.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts under the guidance of senior team members.
- Maintain compliance with Mantecon CAD standards and quality assurance procedures.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate project requirements with engineers, designers, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support project schedules, deliverables, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with technical coordination activities.
- Assist with site investigations, field measurements, and existing condition assessments.
Construction Support
- Participate in site reviews and construction administration activities.
- Assist with the review and preparation of RFI responses, change orders, shop drawings, and construction clarifications.
- Support engineers and project managers during construction and commissioning activities.

What You'll Bring
- Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience preparing and designing engineering drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical building systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and related standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Revit MEP experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with HAP, eQuest, or similar load calculation and modeling software is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- C.E.T. designation or progress toward certification is considered an asset.
- LEED® project experience or LEED® accreditation is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and willingness to attend site visits as required.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
