The team behind MIMI Chinese is proud to operate its sister restaurant, Sunnys Chinese, located in the heart of Kensington Market.
Sunnys is inspired by high-energy dining cultures found throughout China. From Shaokao spots in Chengdu and Xi’an to Dai Pai Dongs in Hong Kong. We look to regional traditions to create an experience that’s casual and playful!

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in their assigned station, ensuring dishes are executed to the highest quality and presentation standards. This role involves following recipes and guidelines, working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

What You'll Do

Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties

Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible

Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.

Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.

Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff and the executive sous chef

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
What You'll Need

Previous work experience as a prep or line cook

Positive attitude and great communication skills

Food Handler Certificate
-
Authorization to work in Canada

An interest in learning about regional Chinese food and beverage
