Full job description

At the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saskatoon Centre, our job is to bring the joy of travel to everyone. That’s where you come in. When you’re part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) brand you’re more than just a job title. We are looking for exceptional people to provide outstanding service to our guests.

We are currently looking for both a Full Time Security Guard and a Part Time Security Guard to provide security and safety of the guests, staff, and the hotel during the nighttime and early mornings. The Security Guard is responsible for patrolling all areas of the property and assist guests with room access if required during the shift and must be able to monitor Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV) and fire & life safety systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Always follow safety and security policies and procedures.
Patrols properties interior ground and back of house area.
Patrols hallways, parking lots, stairwells, lobbies, bars, and restaurants.
Ensures all guest room doors are closed and all public access doors locked.
Ensures all properties security alarms and CCTC camera are on and functional.
Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all nightly occurrences, suspicious activity.
Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.
Security guards might also need to evict loiterers or trespassers from time to time.
Always maintains safety and security of guests.
Attend phone calls with proper telephone etiquette and standard greetings.
Any other duties assigned by the superior or management.

Qualifications and Attributes

Must be able to work Night Shifts (11:00pm to 7:00am) for applicants seeking full time employment.
Must be able to work Early Morning Shifts (6:30am to 10:30am) for applicants seeking part time employment.
1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role or in a hospitality environment.
Proficient in both verbal and written communication
Basic reading, writing, math skills, and the capacity to work on a computer
Completion of high school diploma or related vocational training preferred
Ability to lift, pull, or push items weighing up to 100 pounds/45kilograms
Pleasant appearance.
Attentive to details.
